Terms of Service
Effective: May 1, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website http://localhost (the “Service”), operated by Spector Team based in United States (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What the Service does
Spector is a free web tool that helps you save publicly available Instagram content — videos, reels, stories, photos and highlights — to your personal device. We provide the technical means; we do not host, modify or control the underlying content.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 where local law requires a higher threshold) to use the Service. If you are using it on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
3. Permitted use
You may use Spector only for lawful purposes, including:
- downloading content you yourself created and posted;
- downloading content for which you have obtained the creator’s explicit permission;
- downloading content that is in the public domain or licensed for redistribution;
- fair-use purposes such as private study, news reporting, criticism or parody, as recognised by your local copyright law.
4. Prohibited use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights of any person;
- access or attempt to access content from private Instagram accounts, “Close Friends” lists or any non-public source;
- repost downloaded content commercially without the creator’s permission;
- perform automated, large-scale or scripted requests that interfere with the Service or with Instagram’s infrastructure;
- circumvent rate limits, captchas or other technical protections;
- resell, sublicense or repackage the Service as your own;
- use the Service in connection with stalking, harassment or any conduct that causes harm to another person.
5. User responsibility for content
You are solely responsible for how you use any media you save through the Service. We do not pre-screen or moderate the content you choose to download. By using the Service, you confirm that you have the legal right to do so for the specific link you are submitting.
6. Intellectual property
Media you download remains the property of its original creator. We claim no ownership over downloaded files. The Service itself — including its design, code, trademarks and content — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable laws.
7. Trademarks of third parties
“Instagram” and related marks are trademarks of Meta Platforms, Inc. We use those names solely to describe what the Service does. Spector is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Instagram or Meta in any way.
8. Service availability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free responses, or compatibility with every device. Instagram may change its public APIs or HTML at any time, which can temporarily disrupt some features.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We disclaim any implied warranties to the extent permitted by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Spector Team, its officers, employees or contractors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, use, goodwill or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed USD 100.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Spector Team and its representatives from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable lawyers’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service or your breach of these Terms — in particular any claim that content you downloaded was used without proper authorisation.
12. DMCA / takedown
If you are a copyright holder and believe content accessible through Spector infringes your rights, please follow the procedure on our DMCA page.
13. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. Material changes to the Terms will be posted on this page with an updated “Effective” date. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The courts located in United States have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising under these Terms, subject to mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence.
