DMCA Notice & Takedown Policy
Spector respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. We respond to clear and complete notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and equivalent laws in other jurisdictions.
What Spector hosts (and does not host)
Spector is a parser and link-resolver. We do not host the underlying media files from Instagram on our own servers. When you submit a public Instagram URL, our service returns a direct CDN link from Instagram itself; the file is delivered to your device straight from Instagram’s infrastructure.
Even though we do not host third-party content, we are committed to acting promptly on valid takedown notices: we will block or remove the affected URL pattern from our service so that Spector no longer resolves it for users.
How to submit a DMCA notice
Send a written notice by email to [email protected]. To be valid under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following:
- An electronic or physical signature of the person authorised to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright interest.
- A description of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed (a URL to the original work is the easiest way to identify it).
- The exact URL on Spector (or the public Instagram URL being resolved through Spector) that allegedly infringes your copyright.
- Your address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on behalf of the owner.

Our response time
We aim to act on valid notices within 24–48 hours of receipt. After a notice is processed we will block or pattern-match the affected URL so that Spector no longer resolves it. We will also email the original sender confirming the action.
Counter-notice
If you believe content was blocked in error, you may submit a counter-notice to [email protected] containing all elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3):
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was blocked and the location at which it appeared before being blocked.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was blocked as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in United States (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which Spector Team can be found).
Repeat-infringer policy
Spector maintains a policy of restricting access for users who are the subject of repeated valid copyright complaints, where such users can be reasonably identified.
Misrepresentation warning
Knowingly submitting a false or misleading takedown or counter-notice may expose you to liability for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). Please consult your own lawyer if you are unsure whether your claim qualifies.
